What you get
- Read-only tools:
list_sites,get_site,get_findings,get_ai_answers,get_score_history,get_changes. - Works with any client that supports remote MCP servers over HTTP.
- The same data and limits as the REST API.
Before you start
- An OLAB Assist account on the Agency plan, signed in as the account owner.
- An AI assistant that supports custom MCP servers or connectors.
Set it up step by step
Create a key for the assistant
Integrations → API keys: create a key named after the assistant (e.g. “Claude”). Use a separate key per assistant.
Clients that accept headers (Claude Code, Cursor and others)
Add a server named
olab-assistwith the addresshttps://api.olabassist.com/mcpand the headerAuthorization: Bearer olab_YOUR_KEY. Claude Code:claude mcp add --transport http olab-assist https://api.olabassist.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer olab_YOUR_KEY"Clients that only take a URL (Claude and ChatGPT apps)
Add a custom connector and paste
https://api.olabassist.com/mcp/olab_YOUR_KEY. In Claude look under Settings → Connectors; in ChatGPT under the connectors or developer mode settings. Menu names change from time to time.Ask a question
Try “List my sites with their scores” first, then ask about issues, competitors and AI answers.
{
"mcpServers": {
"olab-assist": {
"url": "https://api.olabassist.com/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer olab_YOUR_KEY" }
}
}
}Tips
- Good questions: “Which critical issues are open on example.com and how do I fix them?”, “How did GEO change over the last 8 scans?”, “Which questions do we lose to competitor.com?”
- The address with the key inside works like a password. Do not share it, and revoke the key if it leaks.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| The assistant says it cannot reach the server | Check the address and key. URL-only clients need the key in the address; header clients need the Authorization header. |
| “API_NOT_IN_PLAN” | The MCP server is part of the Agency plan. |
| The assistant guesses instead of using the tools | Mention OLAB Assist in the question, e.g. “Using OLAB Assist, …”. |
Questions
Can the assistant change anything?
No. Every tool is read-only.
Does the assistant provider see my data?
Only what the assistant reads to answer your question, under that provider's terms.
Other integrations
Product names and logos belong to their owners. OLAB Assist is not affiliated with them.
